﴿۱﴾ ناپ اور تول میں کمی کرنے والوں کے لیے خرابی ہے﴿۲﴾ جو لوگوں سے ناپ کر لیں تو پورا لیں﴿۳﴾ اور جب ان کو ناپ کر یا تول کر دیں تو کم کر دیں﴿۴﴾ کیا یہ لوگ نہیں جانتے کہ اٹھائے بھی جائیں گے﴿۵﴾ (یعنی) ایک بڑے (سخت) دن میں﴿۶﴾ جس دن (تمام) لوگ رب العالمین کے سامنے کھڑے ہوں گے﴿۷﴾ سن رکھو کہ بدکارروں کے اعمال سجّین میں ہیں﴿۸﴾ اور تم کیا جانتے ہوں کہ سجّین کیا چیز ہے؟﴿۹﴾ ایک دفتر ہے لکھا ہوا﴿۱۰﴾ اس دن جھٹلانے والوں کی خرابی ہے﴿۱۱﴾ (یعنی) جو انصاف کے دن کو جھٹلاتے ہیں﴿۱۲﴾ اور اس کو جھٹلاتا وہی ہے جو حد سے نکل جانے والا گنہگار ہے﴿۱۳﴾ جب اس کو ہماری آیتیں سنائی جاتی ہیں تو کہتا ہے کہ یہ تو اگلے لوگوں کے افسانے ہیں﴿۱۴﴾ دیکھو یہ جو (اعمال بد) کرتے ہیں ان کا ان کے دلوں پر زنگ بیٹھ گیا ہے﴿۱۵﴾ بےشک یہ لوگ اس روز اپنے پروردگار (کے دیدار) سے اوٹ میں ہوں گے﴿۱۶﴾ پھر دوزخ میں جا داخل ہوں گے﴿۱۷﴾ پھر ان سے کہا جائے گا کہ یہ وہی چیز ہے جس کو تم جھٹلاتے تھے﴿۱۸﴾ (یہ بھی) سن رکھو کہ نیکوکاروں کے اعمال علیین میں ہیں﴿۱۹﴾ اور تم کو کیا معلوم کہ علیین کیا چیز ہے؟﴿۲۰﴾ ایک دفتر ہے لکھا ہوا﴿۲۱﴾ جس کے پاس مقرب (فرشتے) حاضر رہتے ہیں﴿۲۲﴾ بےشک نیک لوگ چین میں ہوں گے﴿۲۳﴾ تختوں پر بیٹھے ہوئے نظارے کریں گے﴿۲۴﴾ تم ان کے چہروں ہی سے راحت کی تازگی معلوم کر لو گے﴿۲۵﴾ ان کو خالص شراب سربمہر پلائی جائے گی﴿۲۶﴾ جس کی مہر مشک کی ہو گی تو (نعمتوں کے) شائقین کو چاہیے کہ اسی سے رغبت کریں﴿۲۷﴾ اور اس میں تسنیم (کے پانی) کی آمیزش ہو گی﴿۲۸﴾ وہ ایک چشمہ ہے جس میں سے (خدا کے) مقرب پیئیں گے﴿۲۹﴾ جو گنہگار (یعنی کفار) ہیں وہ (دنیا میں) مومنوں سے ہنسی کیا کرتے تھے﴿۳۰﴾ اور جب ان کے پاس سے گزرتے تو حقارت سے اشارے کرتے﴿۳۱﴾ اور جب اپنے گھر کو لوٹتے تو اتراتے ہوئے لوٹتے﴿۳۲﴾ اور جب ان( مومنوں) کو دیکھتے تو کہتے کہ یہ تو گمراہ ہیں﴿۳۳﴾ حالانکہ وہ ان پر نگراں بنا کر نہیں بھیجے گئے تھے﴿۳۴﴾ تو آج مومن کافروں سے ہنسی کریں گے﴿۳۵﴾ (اور) تختوں پر (بیٹھے ہوئے ان کا حال) دیکھ رہے ہوں گے﴿۳۶﴾ تو کافروں کو ان کے عملوں کا (پورا پورا )بدلہ مل گیا

Name:المطففين, Al-Mutaffifeen
Name taken from Verse 1 where there is a mention of the word ”Mutaffifeen”.
١ وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ
1 Woe to those who give less [than due],

7 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.
٨ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ
8 And what can make you know what is sijjeen?
٩ كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ
9 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed.
١٨ كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ
18 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in ‘illiyyun.
١٩ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ
19 And what can make you know what is ‘illiyyun?
٢٠ كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ
20 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed
٢٧ وَمِزَاجُهُ مِنْ تَسْنِيمٍ
27 And its mixture is of Tasneem,
٢٨ عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
28 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink.

Explanation And Back Ground
This Surah has 36 verses. It takes its name from verse 1: ” وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ” (Woe to those who give less [than due],) where the word “المطففين” meaning “The Defrauders” appears. This Surah was revealed in Mecca most probably during the early days of Muhammad’s proclamation of his Prophethood. There is some difference of opinion between commentators of Quran as some consider it as a Madni Surah, the basis of which is the below mentioned Hadith narrated from Ibn Abbas:
Nasai and Ibn Majah both recorded from Ibn Abbas that he said, “When we came to Madina, the people of Madina were the most terrible people in giving measurement (i.e., they used to cheat). Thus, God revealed,
وَيۡلٌ۬ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ Woe to Al Mutaffifin.) After that, they started giving good measure.
Like the previous two Surahs, the central theme of this Surah is also Hereafter. It says that unless man does not realize that there is another life where he has to give accounts of his deeds, he would not be vigilant and righteous in his affairs.
Narrated by Abdullah bin Masud, the Prophet used to recite two equal Surahs in one rakah; he would recite (for instance) An Naziat in one rakah, Surah Mutaffifin and Surah Abasa in one rakah.
